There's a man, Sammy is on the roof of a school in Crediton who's reminiscing about the winter of 1962 - 1963. He's the unlikely hero of Radio Devon's 2007 drama production, featuring a cast of local players.
Borderline follows Sammy from his early school days, through an uncomfortable secondary stage, into a reflective adulthood.
Set between the 1960's and the present day, It is the semi-autobiographical story of what happens when Sammy takes the 11+ exam. At that time, failing the 11+ often turned out to be one of the defining moments of a young persons life.
Does Sammy pass or fail? How is his life affected by being literally on the borderline? Does it affect his school friendships and ultimately his future?
Sam Morgan plays Mr White, the secondary modern head teacher.
